Thanks Stephen, I really appreciate the comments. I agree with much of what you said — the church has a sad history of shooting its own wounded, which includes many of its leaders, unfortunately. Someone said to me that deconstruction is like two parallel train tracks.

  1. Deconstructing your relationship with the church (obviously complex from a relational point of view)
  2. Deconstructing your theology/biblical view — which is perhaps more difficult than #1.

In my case I have had to work through both of those, and honestly am still working through them. Thanks for your comments!
