Thanks Stephen, I really appreciate the comments. I agree with much of what you said — the church has a sad history of shooting its own wounded, which includes many of its leaders, unfortunately. Someone said to me that deconstruction is like two parallel train tracks.
- Deconstructing your relationship with the church (obviously complex from a relational point of view)
- Deconstructing your theology/biblical view — which is perhaps more difficult than #1.
In my case I have had to work through both of those, and honestly am still working through them. Thanks for your comments!
